We’re on the highway to 29 Palms, L.A. This is not a dress rehearsal. I’m on the driver’s seat, running down the free road. Sunglasses, jeans, jacket, leather bag, bottle of water and Jamie by my side.

I’m giving myself one chance, one frame, and one click of the shutter. The time is now. The clarion call of adventure is beckoning and I am yielding. Nowhere to stay, but that’s ok. We’re free, happy and playful.

It’s hot. He’s hot - in blue jeans, working pants for gold diggers and fortune hunters. Hat, dirty white t-shirt. Left turn, that’s right… The summer heat is a pale yellow hue of languor and indolence. Our dreams are the dusty colors of the cracked soil and the shiny black of the road beneath us. Dull gold and jade, silver. Translucent love. The earth needs a beauty sleep… Need more gas.

Hmm, I have no time for thinking, because all my energy is taken up with doing. Baby, let’s move on. Freedom, illusions, sex. Tranquility. Skin. Blue jeans. The end.
